home improvement

I am currently working on getting curtains up in our bedroom. Accomplishment. Exciting. Thrilling. And if you ever saw our bedroom...you'd start a list of "need to do"...but hey...you gotta start somewhere.

It makes me happy to do things for our home. Intentional, planned out things to make the Willford Estate.

Someday maybe we'll get some new couches cause DAMN GINA...those things need to go!

Jason and I wandered through Home Depot for a bit tonight. Priced a shade for our kitchen window. The color I had my heart on doesn't exist unless I want it "custom" and "custom" isn't in the Willford budget. So we'll adjust and forge on.

We did however find the ceiling fan that will some day grace our eating area. It's right up our alley and will fit in nicely with our plans.

And we have yet to attempt to paint another room...honestly...that bathroom kicked my trash! I think I just need to buckle down and buy the paint and put it somewhere conspicuous so it will stare at me and guilt me into using it. Guilt is always good motivation for me.

It's a work in progress. The plan is to kindly and gently transform this house into our home. We just might need some help hanging pictures cause we just don't seem to have an eye for that sort of thing.

not quite the day I had planned in my head...

Well...I made it...I am finished with my cleanse and I have to say...coming off the damn thing is WAAAYYY worse than being on it. I'm pretty sure I'd rather stick to my juice than even again attempt to eat food and face the wrath of a body who's stomach has shrunk to the size of a peanut and has no ability to stand food with any other than, well, lemon juice, maple syrup or cayenne pepper.

So needless to say, my Valentine's Lovey Dovey Day plans are capoot. Not only do I have the "don't EVEN think about giving me food" going on...I also have come down with a cold sent here from Satan himself. Not only do I have said cold, I also have an EAR INFECTION. You read that correctly. I honestly asked the doctor...what? Am I 6?! Luckily, no ear tubes for me, instead I got myself a pile of prescriptions that had I filled all of them, would have cost me over 80 bucks. FOR A COLD AND EAR INFECTION. No thanks...I'll deal with the sexy raspy voice and smokers cough through the weekend. WHILE I CONTINUE TO STARVE MYSELF.

Luckily the pharmacist was the super kindest lady ever and just looked at me and said...it's a sad day when you have to pick which prescription you can afford. I said...You must hear this a lot. She said...More than you can imagine. I'd rant about my thoughts on that...but I think I'll wait for another day when I am feeling my fiestiness at a full level.

Pretty sure Jason put it right when he said...you NEVER should have done that cleanse.

Or maybe he's just bitter cause I have no desire to run into the kitchen and whip him up some Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes or Lobster Tail or even Ramen Noodles. I am a bit disappointed I am not putting my fabulous new ramekins to work. I adore that Love knows me so well, he knew to get me items for the kitchen for a gift. And although I am probably the only person who'll fully admit to despising chocolate...I'm gonna try a new recipe of baked fudge...and just see what happens.

Pretty sure I'll have 3 smily chocolatey faces smiling back at me.

it's not about the pain...it's about how you look

I came up with a brilliant plan about a month ago to help me accomplish my goal of being a hotty turning 30…it was to coerce my good friend to do the Master Cleanse with me. I’m telling ya…brilliant plan. We’d lose some weight, flush some toxins, feel good…totally fool-proof. Or so I thought.

When you don’t eat food for long amounts of time you notice a few things happening. Yes in fact I have lost some weight, here I am on Day 6 and have lost 6 pounds. I do feel good…for the most part. I know I am flushing some toxins.

But the other side effects are less fun. Like about 2 pm everyday I start to zone out and can’t really pull myself back in. Any smell of food turns me into a ravenous beast. And to be honest, I probably haven’t been the nicest person in the world. Or the funnest. I’m kinda boring. I just curl up in the fetal position begging for steak or sushi or JUST SOME DAMN BROTH!!!

So far I have not only lost some L-Bs, but have experienced the worst sinus headache I have ever had. And I've had some doozies! I've been what you might call...moody. I've also been more focused and driven than I have in a long time. I've SLEPT! Something that has averted me for months now. I've considered myself totally looney tunes. I've had the kind of headache that makes squinty eyes...well...disappear. And I've peed more than a normal non-pregnant person should ever have to.

I’ve thought of giving up…letting my dreams float away into the inversion. I’ve thought of just cheating…just a little bit. And I’ve thought of pushing through and doing what I know I can do. Starve myself for 10 days mostly for the sake of vanity.

But hey…these pants that are just a little bit baggier today…are making my decision to join the numbers who have “cleansed” just a little bit less painful.
